A New Year's Perspective

A New Year's Perspective

Oh 2017.

It still feels so surreal to say that. Twenty seventeen. We kicked off the very first week of 2017 by doing something very uncharacteristically us. We shared the story of Outshinery's first year with our clients; how we started, how we grew, and what pushed our little team that scatters all over the world toward a common goal. It was incredibly scary to push "SEND". However, the responses we've received were overwhelming and made it all worth it. So the very first thing we learned this year:

Doing business can be personal, and it's a beautiful thing.

Here are 5 things I thought were worth sharing this week:

1. Mailchimp did a great job demystified Search Engine Optimization.

2. How to master any new subject. The very first step is ridiculously humbling.

3. Using data science to make wine and cheese pairings.

4. Studies show that among younger consumers, wine label design impacts sales more than you might think.

5. A New Year’s Perspective: John Steinbeck on Good and Evil, the Necessary Contradictions of the Human Nature, and Our Grounds for Lucid Hope.

All the goodness and the heroisms will rise up again, then be cut down again and rise up. It isn’t that the evil thing wins — it never will — but that it doesn’t die.
— John Steinbeck
